I would like to say on a lighter note, but unfortunately we got some pretty devastating

news last night from Dolly Parton that her devoted husband of almost 60 years passed away.

He is the inspiration behind her hit song Jolene. He was 82 years old. He pretty

much stayed out of the spotlight. And according to a statement provided to the Associated Press,

he died in Nashville and it's going to be laid to rest in a private ceremony with only immediate

family attending. Dolly put out a statement yesterday that said Carl and I spent many wonderful years together.

Words can't do justice to the love we shared over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.

Of course, I went out on Instagram. But I was looking at their love story because they were a pretty

interesting way that they met. And I've always been kind of fascinated with people's meat cute. Like when you stay together for 60 years, like do you

meet this person and do you immediately know? So she actually went on jelly roll's wife's podcast, the

dumb blonde podcast. And here is what she described her first meeting with her husband Carl to be like.

We're going to talk about Carl for a second.

Did you think coming to Nashville you were going to meet the love of your life?

The last thing I want is a boyfriend.

I got it, you know, because I'm leaving two boyfriends here.

And I kept saying, no, I'm going to Nashville.

And the very day I got to Nashville, I met Carl Dean.

And 60 years later,

I'm still with Carl Dean. You know, he's quiet and I'm loud. We're funny. Oh, he's hilarious.
