So today we're going to cover a new topic.

And I haven't really dedicated an entire podcast to gambling addiction,

but I'm learning about it and I thought I would share what I've learned.

So I used to lead a small group for women's codependency.

And while I was leading that group years ago,

I ran into a lady who was absolutely lovely.

I had a brief relationship with her.

We were acquaintances, I wouldn't call us friends,

but she just was incredibly sweet.

And she was employed at one of the local churches.

She was in charge of their finances.

And it came out she had been working there for 10 years.

Eventually that she had gambled most of the church's money away.

And obviously she was fired.

Let go. I don't know if they press charges.

I know we're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars.

And it was very shocking because this woman,

you would have been friends with this woman.

Like this one was incredibly kind and loved the church

and loved the people that she worked with.
