Does this moment call for stillness or action? Does this moment call for stillness or action?

0:09.3

Well, hello there. It's Morgan here and welcome to today's episode. This is a question that came up when I was

0:16.8

writing something longer and it's followed me for the past few years. It's something that

0:22.8

I just kind of wrote down and I thought, wow, I actually need to ask myself that on a much

0:30.6

more frequent basis. And to be completely transparent, it comes from something that makes me pretty angry.

0:40.1

Angry is really the only word I can find that really adequately describes how I feel.

0:47.5

It started with frustration, annoyance, but it's anger now, quite honestly. So this thing that makes me angry is I'll tell you a

0:59.7

story to kind of explain it. So I was having a conversation with someone a little over a year ago,

1:07.2

and they asked me, what did I, like like what advice would I give to young people and what is something

1:18.4

that young people need to be more confident about and just you know really bold about and I don't

1:25.4

know why this was my answer but this was the answer that I gave on this particular

1:29.9

day. And I said, well, I think that young people need more room to be confident in their decision to

1:41.0

take their time to figure things out in their life. I think we put a lot of pressure

1:45.6

on young people to be confident about where they want to go to school and what they're going to do

1:50.4

with their lives and their teen years and their 20s. And I don't know. I just want to live in a world

1:56.4

where more young people are just like, I'm not quite sure. Like, I'm just trying to be present where I am

2:02.2

right now and I'm trying a few things. I'm exploring or just confident to say, well, I tried that,

2:08.2

but, you know, I don't know if that works. And, you know, that was just sort of the answer that I gave.

2:13.2

It was, I felt it was pretty generic answer.

2:22.4

But based on how the other person responded, that's not the case.

2:26.2

And they proceeded to tell me, well, that's not how you can live your life. Like you need to have a plan.

2:27.6

You need to know what you're doing.
