We're listening to James O'Brien on LBC,

where it's oddly having spent years describing the tribal and binary nature of British politics, the incredibly reductivist lurch towards the madness and chaos caused by the footballification of everything.

I don't know that there are many teams left now.

Everything is so fractured and divided

that it's almost impossible to work out where the halfway line is.

One thing upon which almost everyone can agree

is that both major party leaders are currently conducting themselves

in a way that beggars belief.

Jeremy Corbyn just walking away from a meeting of leaders

on the grounds that he doesn't think Chokuramuna is a leader,

which is not an unreasonable observation to make,

but in the circumstances, it would be a little bit like complaining about the absence of a teaspoon

while they'd just announced that the Titanic

had hit an iceberg.
