Do you walk for time or distance?

Hi, I'm Dave.

I've been walking for fitness since 2013,

averaging about 21,000 steps a day. I'm walking right now and would love to have you join me

for the next 10 minutes. Before I get to that question, do you walk for time or distance? I want to tell you what happened the other day

to Ava, my wife. She was out for a run along the paved trail that's alongside the lake, the one that I

continually am searching for the alligator in. I Haven't seen it in a while.

Anyhow, so she was running along this paved trail.

And there's a part that goes through a little bit of a wooded area and is kind of windy and turny.

And she was paying attention, not paying attention.

And she goes around this turn and then at the last moment notices she's about to

step on a five-foot snake that is making its way across the paved trail. She's able to change course

dramatically, not step on the snake. She stops, pulls out her phone, takes a picture to show to me

because she knows I'm just going to absolutely love the idea

that there is a five-foot snake near the trail where I walk.

And as she's taking the picture, another guy walks up behind her and she points out the snake.

He looks at it.

Says it's not a copperhead, because we do have copperheads down here.

So it's not a copperhead, but it looks to be some sort of venomous water snake.

Because again, it's near the lake.
