Today is a super rustic day because I am joined by DIY crafting queen vlogger designer and author of her new book Hot Glue Gun Mess.

Mr. Kate. Hello, thank you so much for having me. Oh my god. Thank you for being here. I need to ask you how did the name Mr. Kate come about?

Well, it's funny. I have like different answers for that because it was sort of a transformative thing. The true story?

Kate Lynn Jenner. Kate Lynn Jenner. No, yes. I am a man. I actually have a really good Tranny boys which sometimes I go down here. Oh that's good.

I can only like speak kind of low. I kind of have a good one too. People used to tell me I look like I amson brother as a kid.

Oh, that's a compliment. Not really. Well, maybe not. Maybe not when you're in your going through puberty.

Well, basically I was looking for, I hit me my name's Kate and it's the most common name ever. And I wanted to have the business which I have the jewelry line and vlog and everything.

And I wanted to have something to do with my name but have it be something unique. And I kind of happened upon Mr. Kate when looking for URLs.

And when they like you type in like a URL and it's not available, they'll give you suggestions. Right.

And Mr. Kate was one of the suggestions and I was like that's hilarious. It is pretty funny. And it also is like very, I identify with it because a lot of what I do, I feel like blurs, gender lines in terms of like the DIY and you know getting, getting in with the tools and all that stuff.

And then a lot of the stuff that I designed, I like to play with juxtapositions and everything. And I just, I also say that that we can create our own labels in this life.

Deep. And I like that. I know I get super deep with that and I can get super just like it was a happy accident. Right. I like the deep version. Yeah, the deep version is good. It's more marketable.

It's very, very likable. It makes you, yeah, love it. Thank you. I thought maybe it meant like you had metaphorical balls, which I kind of am getting that vibe from you.

Yeah, no, absolutely. I think all women do, right. I have a huge ball. Totally. I'll just hidden up in there. They're not even hidden. They're just fucking hitting me in the kneecaps everywhere. I walk. That is so gross.

But as well, that's why we have hair and pants, right? Yes. Drop, crotch, crotch, cover up the ball. Cover up the balls. Teck them in, shove them in your pockets.

I have to admit that before I read your book, and I'm not just saying this because that's not really my style. Okay. If I don't like something, I just, I know this about you. Yeah. I've listened to the podcast. I like this about you too.

Thank you. I'll leave her like, I'll avoid making any type of compliment or I'll just complete like go into deflection mode. Yeah. But I actually really, really, really liked your book.

And I am not a crafter. Thank you. Well, that's perfect. That was the goal with the book was really to make it approachable and funny and fun because I think, yeah, no, it's hilarious.

Oh, do you think like crafting? I always think of like weird substitute teachers in holiday sweaters. It is. Is it a four-letter word? No, that's a five-letter word.

Yeah. No, craft is very, it's granny. It's you immediately think of just shreds of fabric and felt and I fucking hate felt. Oh, yeah.

No, nobody wants to, nobody wants felt and like wants to cuddle a felt. No, it gives me anxiety. So when I was reading your book, I was pleasantly surprised. And I'm like, oh my god, I want to make that and I could do that.
