Do conference championship games matter anymore?

Well, from the view of getting a first round by and a top four seat in the college football

playoff, hell yes, they do.

But Lane Kiffin mentioned earlier this week, is the risk worth the reward if you're on the bubble?

Well, since we don't know if the committee will penalize you for losing, regardless of what they say in the press,

it's almost impossible to know the answer to that. But one thing I do know is this. If your team

has never won a conference championship in their current league like Ole Miss or Texas A&M,

it should still matter a lot. Now, if you're Alabama or you're Georgia, who's won the league

many times, maybe it's not as big of a deal to you, but in my opinion,

it should still matter. If you don't make the conference championship game and you don't win the

national championship, you've basically won nothing. Now, I get that you don't want to seem soft

or afraid because you don't want that to bleed down to your team, but it doesn't matter if you

like Kiffin or not. The job of a head coach is to view all
