Nothing was going to change when I said this for years until there was a change at the head coaching position.

Well, there will obviously be that change now.

But why not embrace it to its fullest?

The status of the search to replace Mike Tomlin, the names, the backgrounds, and so forth.

That's going to sort itself out.

I'm going to instead go a little more macro on you this morning.

To date, whether it's the interview requests that have been made,

or whether it's everything that Art Rooney spoke the other day at Accroeshire Stadium,

there's been no real evidence that you're going to see the Steelers move into 2026.

And hear me out on this, because I'm not just saying that they need to go and pick fruit

off the Kyle Shanahan or Sean McVay trees and become like the cool kids or whatever.

That's actually not my reference here.

This franchise can't continually need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the next era. It was cute and charming for a few decades

whenever there was nothing but success,

or when we were all chronologically closer to the teams of the 1970s,

even the more recent championships.
