It's getting cold even here in San Diego, California, and as I set up some of the new raised beds at my property, what I want to do is sort of preemptively prepare them for either

floating row covers or cold frames or blankets or even shade covers if we think

about the summer that is to come in 2021. So how do you build a hoop house on a raised bed design,

whether it be a metal raised bed like the birdies beds that I have in my garden and I have for sale on the

epicarding store or a wooden raised bed really any design there's a way to do it

no matter what style of bed that you use so first of all what about a hoop house? Why would you want to use one? There's

really unlimited benefits. It's really just to extend or protect, right? So you're going to be able to start the

season earlier by artificially boosting the temperatures higher in spring, or you're going to keep them

warmer in late fall before it actually starts to get really cold.

And then if you can change the material out you can even switch it up and do different types of material so that you either have more cold and or sun protection really so it's just a way to put a structure on top of your raised beds
