From the land of the free and the home of the chiefs, this is the

locked on chiefs podcast. And welcome back to another episode of locked on Chiefs. We are going to talk about the

Sour Cap today. That is going to be the main point of this entire show. Before we get

into that though, it does look like the chiefs have a number for

Chris Jones right now the estimated number for the salary cap for his tag is

going to be 16.4 million dollars now that is going to be $16.4 million.

Now that is going to be a big number

that's, you know, honestly,

you can't say you think is $13 million under the cap right now

with the carryover that they've got.

That's assuming that the cap stays about what it is right now around 200 million.

You have to think that they're going to be making some moves.

I'm going to get into that in the second and third segments. There are several moves that they can make that would really help them and I do expect them to make them. But when you start looking at Chris Jones's cap number for 2019 or I'm sorry for 2020 that is definitely

going to be a high number and it makes you question whether or not that they

think they can afford him at that number. Obviously for Kansas City it would be better if they could get a long-term

deal done with him. But you have to ask the question, are they going to try to get a long-term

deal done, which is what he wants and which is what I think they they want or are they going to do a

tag and trade like they did with D ford last year you know when you look at the

D forward situation it was a little bit different because D forward didn't really fit the defense that they were going to.

They know Chris Jones fits this defense and they traded to go get a guy in Frank Clark that

fit this defense better than what D Ford did. The big question though is can you pay

D. Can you pay Frank Clark and Chris Jones the money that you're going to have to
