In Ephesians, the fourth chapter and the 15th and 16th verses, it says,

But speaking the truth in love may grow up into him in all things which is the head,

even Christ, from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,

according to the effectual working in the measure of every part,

maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Let me read you another translation of that.

One translation says, for from him the whole body, closely joined and knit together by the contact of every part with the source of its life,

derives its power to grow in proportion to the vigor of each individual part, and so it is being built up in the spirit of love.

See, what he's talking about there is that the body is many members,

but when all the parts are working good and contributing their parts and doing their parts,

that the body is developing and increasing.

Amen? And in 1 Corinthians 11, we notice this

word, verse 29 and 30. 1 Corinthians 11, 29 and 30, this is the portion of scripture that we

use for communion, what we call the Lord's

supper.

These people were not observing the Lord's supper correctly.

They didn't realize what these elements, the bread and cup stood for, and they weren't

observing them properly.

And verse 29 says that because they were not discerning the Lord's body,

verse 30, it said, for this cause, many are weak and sickly among you and many sleep.
