Welcome to this special breaking news and very distressing and disturbing episode of surviving the survivor, the podcast that

promises to bring you the very best guests in all of true crime. We just got some news

a very short time ago regarding the Ellen Greenberg case. As you may or may not know, Ellen Greenberg was

an elementary school teacher in a very nice area of Philadelphia suburbs called Manny Young.

She was living there with her fiance, Sam Goldberg. This is back in 2011, and it was a snowy, snowy

nor Easter night, not just flurries, but a very, you know, snowy evening. Ellen stopped on her way

back to fill up the car with gasoline, her own car. She was in the process of making a fruit salad.

And that evening, she is discovered dead with 20 stab wounds, 20 stab wounds, 10 to the front, 10 to the very back of her head, 10 to the back

of her neck. An autopsy showed that two of the stab wounds were postmortem, meaning they

were done, inflicted after she was already medically dead, which is a little tough to do.

Her then-fiance, Sam Goldberg, calls 911, is asked to do CPR, and a while into this call,

suddenly he discovers a knife that I believe is four inches

in her chest, suddenly, as though you would not see that immediately.

I am gutted right now, I'll be honest,

because I spoke with Josh and Sandy.

They gave me a little heads up.

They actually messaged me yesterday during the Brian Koberger press conference.

And so I was doing that all day.

Then I had the show.
