Good evening, everyone, and thank you for joining us. My name is Hale Halverson, and I serve as the

vice chairman of the University of Iowa's Young Americans for Freedom Chapter. Iowa Yaff is a

conservative activist group, and we work to promote conservative values on campus and within the

community. We have taken stances and demonstrated our crucial values by partaking in activism projects

like the 9-11 Never Forget Memorial, Freedom Week, the Stand Up for Israel Memorial,

when does life begin timeline, detransitioner visibility tabling, and of course, tonight's guest

speaker.

Before welcoming the man of the night, I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks to all the volunteers and yaffers.

I am thankful to the members of this chapter who

contributed their time, energy, essential viewpoints, and ideas to make this event a success.

I extend another thank you to National YAF for their consistent support in everything that we do.

This team has put forth a lot of energy into everything, including this event.

As we flyer, we have had people follow us, tearing down the posters as we put them up.

Despite school policy, our shocking has been erased and defaced.

Members have been doxed, stocked, and had their personal information leaked.

Iowa Yaf is repeatedly labeled

as a hate group among our peers, and individuals have been screamed at for being supposed

racists, sexists, and fascists. As we table, people come up to us full of anger and unwilling

to have conversations, and occasionally flip our tables. I am grateful that despite the obstacles and trials that they face,

the men and women of our chapter stand firm to their beliefs and demonstrate their values.
