John Chapter 11, I'm calling this message, Discover Eternity. It's on Lazarus being raised

from the dead. It's the only place in the Bible where this story is and we're going to talk

about eternity tonight. John 11 verse 1. Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany,

in the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wife his feet with her hair,

whose brother, Lazarus, was sick.

Therefore the sister sent to him saying Lord behold he whom you love is sick.

When Jesus heard that he said this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of

God that the son of God may be glorified through it.

Obviously he already knows what he's going to do.

Verse 5, and look at verses 5 and 6 carefully.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and

Lazarus so when he heard that he was sick he stayed two more days in the place

where it was. Doesn't that sound contrary? Now Jesus loved him so when he heard he was

sick he checked into a hotel for two days. He did it so for the glory of God to be revealed even more.

Jesus at this time is in a town and I see Peter's in service so Peter help me with this.

He was in the town of Betha Bara. Is that a good? Is that good?

Okay.

After I start, resident Jewish scholar. Beth Bara was the name of the town and it was 30 miles away and so it was one day's journey

from where Lazarus was where Jesus was.
