Turn to John chapter 12. John chapter 12 I want to remind you that I'm not doing an exegesis of each chapter of John, but we're looking at one truth out of each chapter.

Revealing the Mystery of Jesus through the eyes of John.

And this week we're going to talk about

Discover Intimacy. When you look at John Chapter 12 there's one of the

greatest pictures of worship and intimacy in the Bible. And I want to talk to you about worship in relationship to intimacy.

You will never develop intimacy with God if you don't understand worship,

because worship is a communing or a communication with God and a

communication from in to us. Now so I want you to understand some things about

intimacy and worship, all right? I didn't grow up in a church

that expressed its worship to the Lord. And when I went to church it was expressing its worship

the first time, I remember the very first service people were dancing

people were shouting people were clapping people were lifting their hands people were

bowing it was just different to me you know and for the first part of the service, I have to be honest with you, I was looking around at different people and in my heart I was being critical and judgmental of their expression of worship.

Now I know that you've never done anything like that, but I was doing it that day.

And I was thinking, oh, that's not real and that's too much and that's over the top

But as the service continued the presence of the Lord just became stronger and stronger and I never sent the presence of God like that in

church before and it was just it was amazing to me to sense his presence and

I mean stronger and stronger and then we move from praise into worship.

Now let me just give you a simple definition of praise and worship.

Praise is what we do to get him here.
