Hey there, my friends. Welcome to the morning mindset. I want to welcome you no matter where you're listening in the world. Hello out there in Venezuela. Hello in Paraguay. Hello in Israel. There are people listening all over the globe. I'm so thankful that you're with us. We're going to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's

word for this day. And we're going to be looking at a passage that is a very painful one, to be

honest. This is Second Chronicles, Chapter 36, verses 17 through 21. This is discipline that God brings

into the life of his people, Israel and Judah, two nations,

and he's going to do it through destruction.

That sounds a little counterintuitive to us, but sometimes when our sin is so bad,

God brings painful, painful discipline into our lives.

We're going to see that in just a moment.

But before we do,

friends, would you pray with me? Because I want us to understand this rightly, the way that God would intend for us to take it. So we need his help to get our hearts ready for that kind of a confrontation.

So, Father, we do ask you to be our teacher and to prepare our hearts.

Enable us to read these harsh and heavy words,

understanding that you're doing this like a father would discipline a child.

Out of love, out of concern, and as the best of fathers, you want what is good for us.

And sometimes discipline is the only thing that will wake us up. So Lord guide us in that

today. In Jesus' name, amen. Well, we are still in our God's story series. We're in chapter

number 29, and God's people have turned away from him repeatedly throughout their history as a nation.

And Second Chronicles 36 gives us the narrative of what happens to the people who are living in the

land of Judah in the south.

The land of Israel to the north has already been conquered by a nation called Assyria.

After Assyria did so, the nation of Babylon came and conquered Assyria. And now we pick up

the story in verse number 17, says, therefore he, and he is God, brought up against them, which is
