Hey friends, do you ever have trouble getting to the root of a problem in your life?

We're getting to the root of a bad habit. What is it that's really compelling you toward that behavior?

Well, today we're going to look at the root of the sin problem. And this is not just your sin problem or my sin problem, but the

sin problem all of us is human beings face. We're going to be looking in Jeremiah chapter 2,

verses 12 and 13, to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word for this day on the morning

mindset. Before we do, friends, I want to invite you to tell someone about the morning mindset.

let's pray before we dig into Jeremiah too, because this passage is so penetrating, we want to

make sure that our hearts are ready to receive it. So, Lord, do that. Prepare our hearts. Get us ready

to hear your word and to respond rightly. Lord, do a work in us because of what we hear in your

word and enable us to respond in a way that brings great glory and honor to you. And it will show others

your presence and your devotion in and through us in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, friends, Jeremiah 2, 12 and 13 is what we're going to be

looking at. And let me set this up by giving you a little bit of background. You see, we've been

talking about the history of the nation of Israel, and they divided into two kingdoms because of a schism

between some leaders. And throughout that time, their sin problem just got bigger

and bigger because they're kings, the leaders became sinful. And there would be a bright spot king

here and there, one who would try to return to the Lord and would do so, but then the very next king

wouldn't, and it would just spiral downward again. During all that time, the various prophets were

coming from God, exhorting the people to return to God. And so you'll see names like Micah,
