Thank you for joining me for this episode of the HBO podcast.

Today I'm wrapping up the Dietitians Dilemma series with my guest co-host Michelle Hearn.

Michelle and I are joined by Ultramarathon,

0:23.2

or I should probably say ultra-autramarathon athlete at this point, Mike McKnight. I have known Mike

0:29.9

for years. We became friends before Mike got into ultramarathons, so it has been quite a treat

0:34.9

for me to see him dabble in the sport at first, but ultimately find his niche within it.

0:40.3

Mike's sweet spot is long ultramarathons that often extend past 200 miles.

0:46.3

0:52.3

Hearing about his process and how it differs from other

1:12.8

which are only separated by a few weeks.

1:15.8

Mike has won all of them, set course records there at them, and won the Triple Crown,

1:20.6

which is essentially just a cumulative time across all three of those races,

1:24.8

and he's done that on two different occasions.

1:30.6

Mike found his way towards a low carbohydrate diet fairly early in his ultramarathon journey. I really like talking to Mike about this

1:36.3

topic because with the type of events he's doing, I believe low carb makes about as much sense

1:42.3

as possible. I hope you enjoy our conversation with Mike.

1:45.7

If you want to hear more about him and his approach, you can also check out episodes that I've recorded with him previously.

Those are episodes 186 where we did more of an introduction to Mike as a person, his training, his diet, all that stuff.
