A listener wants to know if I saw the balloon.

Jill sent me an email earlier this week. She says, hi, Dave. Just a note to let you know how much I love the Your Days Are Numbered podcast episode and also the one on President Truman and his enjoyment of walking.

My husband has been listening to the podcast along with me and has been pestering me to ask you if you saw the spy balloon during a walk in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

So that was two weeks ago.

And it made certainly national news here in the United States.

I'm assuming that to some degree it was international news.

And so the answer to the question is yes and sort of.

I was in Lowe's that afternoon, completed my list, paid,

and was walking out to our vehicle, which I tend to park in the back of the lot. And as I was

getting close to the car, I noticed there was someone else who was parked even a little further back.

They were standing outside their car. It was as if they were FaceTiming someone.

He was talking and looking into his phone, but the phone was pointed skyward, which I thought was a little unusual.

And I looked up and saw two jets flying in formation way high. I assumed they were military. And I thought, well, that's interesting.

And then I glanced to the right. And there it was.

I'm thinking, oh my, they're getting ready to shoot that thing down.

That's what those military jets are doing.

Took some pictures, hopped in my car.

Gratefully, we were less than 10 minutes from the house.

And you talk about distracted driving. I'm driving. I'm looking out the window and I'm looking up.
