Well, hey, all you wiretappers out there.

I've got a fun little story for you today. I'll have to refer to my notes here a little bit. I just stumbled across it. I just thought it was interesting. One of my motorcycle riding friends from Chicago, Alex sent this to me. He sends me something every once in a while. And all these stories are like they're too long to have to do a lot of research, so I have to think about what I'm

going to do. But this is kind of a short one, just interesting little story I thought was a guy

named Ray Ryan, businessman, an oil man, a developer, and a notorious gamble. He discovered the

largest oil field in West Texas, and he developed a lot of Palm Springs,

California. So he's pretty well known out on the west coast there. And he owned hotels and

resorts all over the world. It was hugely wealthy, particularly in Europe. He had a lot of movie stars that were his

friends, you know, because of Palm Springs, he probably played golf, Bob Hope, and Brin Cosby, Clark

Gable, William Holden, kind of all the macho guys who probably liked golf and gamble, too.

So in 1963,

maybe this is when he became the most famous gambler of all.

He did a head-to-head-and match at the Flamingo in Las Vegas with Nick the Greek.

Oh boy, I don't know how to pronounce that name.

Nick the Greek, anyhow, he was a famous gambler in those 50s and 60s in Las Vegas.

I think he's the guy that ended up doing the, sat in the line, used to be on TV.

It seemed like back in maybe the 70s, maybe the 60s, I can't remember, but he won several hundred

thousand dollars in that particular match. Now, he got to know a mobster, our West Coast buddy

from the outfit, Marshall Kaifano, Red Wemette's friend, Red Wemette knows him, And, uh, because he was in that little click,

Red was with Joy Lamberto and, uh, Frank Suisse. And, and, and so he got to know this guy.

He may, maybe, maybe even he remembers this. But Marshall Kaifano had an idea. Now, this is a typical outfit guy's idea.

He said, he told this guy, Ray Ryan, that he had evidence of he cheating during this big-time poker match with Nick to Greek.

And he would expose him unless Ray Ryan would pay him
