I found myself almost engaged to a very eligible bachelor and suddenly knowing that that was not going to be a good thing because he didn't, I was arm candy to him.

He didn't get me, you know, on a deep level.

He didn't have a capacity for intimacy.

And I knew that I would have that in my life.

So I broke up with him and then very magically traveled to Hong Kong,

knew to go stand down in the hotel lobby early one morning.

And my future husband walked off the elevator and we were engaged in three days.

We had all sorts of people on our show.

Richard Simmons was our first.

Yes.

It was terrifying, but we always out kind of on the cutting edge of discovering who we are,

you know, what we wanted to express in the world. And we had a wonderful

career in entertaining. Was Richard Simmons as much fun as he looked like he was? He was so funny.

I just loved him. He scared me to death. You know, it's our first show, our first taping. And he's

telling us that we will not succeed unless we fight with each other.

We were invited by a group of really well-known people to go into the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War.

That was interesting.

That was terrifying.

Yeah, kind of.

We went with Barbara, Marx Hubbard, Dennis Weaver, Mike Farrell from Mash, the Real Patch Adams,
