| 0:41.3 | Thank you. So welcome to the continuation of this series of talks on samadhi. I think we're now on the 40th talk. And what I hope is that these guided meditations that go along with it and these talks. |
| 0:57.7 | More than teaching you techniques, |
| 1:01.1 | more than teaching you how to do samadhi practice, |
| 1:09.6 | it's pointing you to feeling something meaningful and satisfying within. |
| 1:11.6 | The normal state that people live in |
| 1:15.6 | involves some kind of tension, some kind of stress. |
| 1:22.6 | It might be a low level, |
| 1:25.6 | and it might not be recognizable by people that they're living with stress and tension. |
| 1:32.3 | It's become normalized. It's expected. It's just how it is to be in the world, how it is to be a human being. |
| 1:40.5 | And the person might have a reference point for something that calls stress or being tense, |
| 1:46.4 | that's some kind of serious level or quantum leap above their normal state. |
| 1:54.8 | But still, often people live in this normal state. |
| 1:59.9 | And what that means is that the thinking that comes from tension also has become normalized. |
| 2:09.1 | Also seems just as this is how what it is to be a human being. |
| 2:13.6 | And we're supposed to do this, or may it even be almost invisible, |
| 2:17.9 | that we're constantly chattering, talking, having conversations, |
| 2:21.4 | remembering, reviewing, planning. |
| 2:26.2 | And, but to enter into samadhi is to drop into someplace that's below any level of tension or stress that we can experience. |
| 2:39.1 | And in a sense, we are now in samadhi dropping below the stress level of our life, the tension level. |
