We talked with the defensive backs on Wednesday afternoon. Today we're going to talk about the cornerback part of that, and tomorrow we'll discuss the safety, because I think they are two very different conversations. I think one is more of like, hey, how are they going to play these guys? And the other ones like, hey, are these guys going to be good? And how good are they going to be do we want to start with because

the georgia transfer first and what tim walton said about Dominic Kelly and also did you get a vibe

that like because Dominic Kelly is here they feel really sure about the top three at cornerback.

Yeah, yeah, I got that vibe. I think they're pretty confident what they have. And honestly,

even the way they talked about, you know, Cam Calhoun a bit and the way he kind of lingered around some of the players talking, Devin Sanchez talking, all that. Like, it's clear that he's got, you know, personality and kind of like a little swagger that he brings with him into that room. So I think, you know, we kind of talked about this, even when Ohio State signed Dominic Kelly out of the Transpore this year, just like, we saw what they just did with Davidson and this idea of a guy coming in as a transfer having multiple years. Yeah, it's difficult to project in 2027, but what if he just goes back into the portal, it ends up somewhere else? Like, that's, that's a real possibility in the current age of college football. But it's clear that, you know, with the size that he

has, kind of the length that he has, you know, experience of being at a Power 5 or Power 4 conference before coming to Ohio State and being at a premier one at that, right, with Georgia, it's pretty clear that they like kind of what they have with him, at least kind of the base of what they can build off of. So if you want to project this room long term, you've got some pretty solid pieces here.

I know we're going to talk a lot about Devin Sanchez, and he's kind of the core of this in terms

of you're expecting to get at least two years here of him starting.

But then when you look beyond that, you know, for a team that, you know, just lost Aaron Scott

in the portal.

Oh my God.

Why his name is escaping me who just transferred to Wisconsin? Bryce West, right? They lose those two guys in the portal. I think you can start to be, you know, a little more shaky about what, what holds, you know, what this room holds beyond this year. I think a guy like Dominic Kelly kind of helps alleviate some of that. And then obviously, you know, the freshman that they have brought in and the praise that they've gotten so far.
