A recent inquiry came my way that asked about how mindfulness and meditation can help with

These feelings of low self-esteem are affecting this person both professionally and with their

I found this so interesting because when I was a therapist in private practice I often

saw this happen where feelings of low self-esteem affected many aspects of my client's lives.

Diving into the reasons of why this feeling of not being enough even exists can be hugely

beneficial because when you know why you're feeling a certain way you can start to identify

the things that trigger those emotions and also learn how to work with them.

Of course this process looks different for everyone and this can actually be where therapy

can play an important role.

During therapy you would be able to mindfully reflect on your past.

Identify any person or events that may have caused these feelings of inadequacy and then

allow yourself to effectively process those feelings and it can really be a game changer

I remember one client in particular realized that the harsh and abusive pressure his father

placed on him when he was a child was actually the cause of the low self-esteem and inadequacy

he was dealing with in the present.

Again this realization was an imperative first step in my client's healing.
