What I'm driving at here is that the Mosaic covenant before they ever leave Sinai is broken.

And once it's broken and the Lord threatens to destroy the people, Moses doesn't appeal to the Mosaic covenant.

He appeals to the Abrahamic covenant so that I think everything that Paul says about the relationship between

the Abrahamic covenant and the Mosaic covenant in Galatians 3 is really helpful for shining a light

on what happens here.

And Moses. Deuteronomy 7 and 8. That's right. Moses is here in the building. Deuteronomy 7 and

8. We talked about the prosperity gospel. We talked about unconditional election. We talked about how our

different circumstances come with different temptations, right? How we're tempted to grumble when we

have too little and how we're tempted to boast when we have too much. So as God's people are about to

enter the promised land here in the book of Deuteronomy, the Lord wants to remind them of that. He wants them to

always, always, always keep their eyes on him and not their circumstances and certainly not the

idols of the land. Today we're going to talk about three chapters, Deuteronomy, 9, 10, and 11.

And what we get today is the Lord telling

his people basically everything that's about to happen to them. They're going to inherit the land,

they're going to displace their enemies. And he wants to make sure that they know none of this is

happening because they're awesome or because they're righteous, but because God is so great

and so merciful. This is not happening because they have kept the law.

My goodness, if you've heard anything in these last 57 episodes, you know those folks ain't kept the law,
