There was a little bit of a distortion and even a confusion in our thinking on prayer.

Let me tell you what I think is important for us to understand as we jump into this sixth message in this series because you prayed.

The misconception or distortion is this. We think this, what does it cost me? What does it cost me to pray?

When really what we should be thinking is what did it cost God for you to pray?

Because when I speak a message on prayer, all you going like, oh, he's asking for an hour,

30 minutes, he's asking us to join the team, he's asking us pray.

Do you understand today?

I just, I had this hit me so hard on Friday of what did it cost God for you to pray? Folks, listen to me. Jesus had to die to open up the

door of heaven for you to pray. Do you understand the opportunity you have to pray comes because of Jesus' death on the cross?

Listen out of the paraphrase version, Hebrews chapter 10, this will make it real.

The writer says, and now we are brothers and sisters in god's family

because of the blood of jesus and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary

in the heavenly realm boldly and with no hesitation.

Now here it comes, church.

For he has dedicated a new life-giving way for us to approach God.

For just as the veil, that's Old Testament, was torn into, Jesus' body was torn open to give us free and fresh access

to God. That's a great place to say, hallelujah. Look at that again. His body was torn open to give us a fresh and free access to God.

Folks, that's incredible. What it cost me, please, what it cost God for us to be able to pray? We should worship.

We should fall on our knees.

We should praise Him and say,

thank you God that I can come boldly
