| 0:45.3 | I am joined right now by the amazing Dr. Jason Johnson, one of my pals in justice. |
| 0:52.3 | And I'm so grateful for him joining us today. We are going to be talking about his article, a really amazing article that is up on MSN now that you all can check out. And this is an article that is basically instructing, compelling, invoking, hoping, praying that the Dems are actually going to take this opportunity and run against ICE in 2026. Dr. Jason Johnson is an amazing human being. You all know him. We love him. We appreciate him. He is a professor. And let me get his actual official bio together. He is a professor and political analyst and public speaker, fresh, unflappable objective. He is known for his ability to break down stories with wit and candor. He is the author of the book, Political Consultants and Campaigns. One Day to Sell, he's a tenure professor in the School of Global Journalism and Communications at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. And he is here with us today to help us break it down. Dr. Jason Johnson. It is a pleasure to have you here. Welcome. It is wonderful to see you. Happy New Year. It's been too long. I hair is literally longer than the last time I saw you. It is. The hair is her in, sir. The hair is heroin. It's wonderful. It's absolutely wonderful. Happy New Year in the final season of America, 2026. Listen, it's going out with a bang. You know, I think we can say that it's definitely going out with a bang. So God bless. Better than Game of Thrones. You know, a lot of shows just kind of peter out at the end. We are getting some really explosive stuff at the end of this season. A lot of surprises, a lot of new characters, people coming back. It's been great. Hollywood, who remembers the strike? This is a great storyline. Yes. We in trouble, friend. We're in trouble. I think. I don't know. I was talking with my audience earlier on Urban View. A shout out to all of you who are listening. I was talking with them about the fact that we now have two young amazing brothers who I don't know in real life, but I have been so blessed by. We got Kaisanat teaching young black boys how to read and he's reading out loud. We got I show speed helping black people fall back in love with Africa. I mean, if America's going to go out with this sort of a bang, it makes sense that we got the young blacks leading us into a greater understanding of ourselves. So, but with all that, however, there's those young brothers out of Chicago, too. The four The jam pod? |
| 3:14.5 | Yeah. or understanding of ourselves. So, but with all that, however. There's those young brothers out of Chicago, too, the four. The jam pod? Yes, jam pot. Those guys are fantastic. I love them. Oh, my God. I really, really like them a lot. I love them. They are smart. They are intelligent. And they don't give a fool. They're going to say whatever it is. So deeply, like, you know, it's interestingly, like, they are, they're what people, again, |
| 3:19.5 | obviously it's been destroyed now because of this regime, but they're what like a Sunday morning PBS show used to be in the 90s because they are so civically engaged. Like they know Chicago. They know the laws. They know the structures. They're like, this is the case. This is the case. You can do this. You can't do that. How they come in after us. Like it's incredibly good reporting and analysis for people in the Chicago land air. I'm a huge fan of Jampot. Like, I think those guys are great. And that's what can be done with some of this social media until they knock us off of that to really sort of keep people informed and engaged. It's amazing work. And I love, I got to be honest with you, in light of all of the sort of black men and not going to support the party and the black men did this, that and the other, it's been really nice to have young black men be like, we're not paying attention to nothing that you're saying right now because we're too busy being about our business and handling business within our community. I love it. I love it. But those young brothers, they're doing some things. And so what is that phrase? The youth shall lead. The youth are definitely leading. Now, Dr. Jason Johnson, you've already referenced the 90s. So we are all clearly that you and I are part of the Gen X reality. So while we are being led by the young, we are also looking with a bit of an eye towards what is happening in the nation right now. And in your article, |
| 4:31.2 | which is entitled, I want you all to check this article out, Democrats need to run against ICE |
| 4:35.2 | in 2026. The reason we started with another young brother consciously, actually don't know how young |
| 4:39.8 | he is, but we started with his clip because he is criticizing what Cory Booker has just put |
| 4:44.9 | forward, which is legislation that is going to handle what's happening with ICE by asking for better training. |
| 4:51.2 | And that sort of falls along the lines of, you know, a strongly worded letter and a wagging of the finger, which is to say that it's not really doing anything at all, particularly when people like myself have been really postulating that ICE is not like Gestapo, ICE is not like |
| 5:06.0 | secret police. ICE is slave catches. Like this is the whole ass slave catch in operation. They are |
