For about 16 game minutes, the matchup with Miami on Monday felt pretty similar to the matchup against TCU on Friday.

The Wolverines were shooting the ball well.

They just weren't taking care of the basketball well.

Against the horn frogs, Michigan coughed up 16 times in the first half.

And against the Red Ox, Michigan was on pace for a similar mark.

With about four minutes to play, Michigan stood at 12 first half turnovers.

Then the final three minutes, 45 seconds, we saw what this can look like when passes get

to their intended targets.

When Michigan hunts for singles and doubles versus trying to come up with the home run play.

And it sparked what was a tremendous stretch run in the final four plus minutes of the half when the Wolverines went from down three to up eight, a 17 to six run.

And from there, Michigan took care of business, cruising past Miami, winning by the margin

that many expected 94 to 67.

But in that stretch, we did get a glimpse into what the hopeful goal is for a full 40 minutes.

Michigan plays a style, a tempo, that is going to bring about

some turnovers. There isn't necessarily a true potential for this team to do what some of the

great John B-line teams did and average fewer than 10 turnovers, be among the best in the country.

Of course, Dusty May, the staff, these players are going to fight for perfection and try

to get there, but this does lend itself to more turnovers than maybe other styles in college

basketball.

But the reality is you just can't continue to have the type of stretches that Michigan has had,

and that was the first 16 minutes.

Because Michigan, once again, shot lights out, 58% overall, 14 of 29, that's 48% from downtown.
