Welcome to the show. I'm a huge, huge fan of the English beat or the beat.

Is it annoying to you that people want to call it the English beat here in the States?

No, I mean, it was 30 years ago, but then it became kind of cute, you know, because for people that don't know, the band is called the beat.

But there was a copyright issue. You had to call the English beat.

There was a band in San Francisco called the beat about six months before us.

So no deal could be struck. So we had to change to something and they became the Paul Collins beat outside of America.
