Welcome to Narcissist Apocalypse, everyone. I am Brandon Chadwick, and this is a debrief of Christy's

Survivor's story. And for those of you who have not listened to Christy's story yet,

here is a little bit of a summary for you. So Christy's story

begins in childhood and it is really shaped by chaos, a lot of domestic violence is going on,

instability, she's in foster care for a bit, there's sexual abuse, and then there's

parentification that is occurring as well. And Christy grew up learning

to manage the crisis of other people, protecting her sister, just really surviving unstable

environments. And then as an adult, Christy was a single mom who was not looking for a relationship.

And she eventually met her abuser after being introduced by her sister.

And she really wasn't into this person at all.

But then she saw this person with her son outside and pushing

him in a swing. And at that point, she was hooked. She saw him as this father figure person or this

person that could be a father to her son. And this really drew her in. And soon after that, after that moment, everything started to become really quick.

And they were married really quick.

But this person also started pushing boundaries.

And at first, they didn't seem that big to her.

There was time domination that was going on.

You know, little things that were making her uncomfortable.

She didn't really have a language for what was happening.

And then eventually the abuse started to escalate.

Intimidation, financial abuse, sexual coercion, gaslighting, physical violence,

a lot of psychological destabilization was going on.
