Summary

This week the Deadpod returns to 1976, for a sweet show that took place at the Tower Theater near Philadelphia PA on June 22.

A great first set starts out with an unusual 'U.S. Blues' opener, then continues to surprise with a nice 'Music Never Stopped', then an excellent 'Crazy Fingers' into a sweet, soulful 'Comes A Time'. A rocking 'Big River' gets the train rolling with 'Tennessee Jed' following. Weir does a soulful 'Looks Like Rain' and Jerry stays in the romantic mood with 'They Love Each Other' Following 'Cassidy' another unusual first set choice, 'Ship of Fools' follows. They close this first set with 'The Promised Land.

0:06.0	This week I decided to bring you a really fabulous show from the spring summer of 1976.
0:12.5	This show is one of a series of shows they played at the Tower Theatre
0:17.0	in Upper Derby, Pennsylvania, which is basically Philadelphia.
0:20.3	It marked a return to Philadelphia after not being there for several years.
0:24.7	And a really nice small venue.
0:27.0	It's seen at about 3500 from my understanding converted movie theater.
0:31.0	And the band really does a nice job here.
0:33.5	To start out with an unusual opener, U.S. Blues.
0:37.0	Of course this was the summer of 1976 and Philadelphia was heavily involved in the bicentennial.
0:42.0	So it's an interesting start to the show.
0:46.0	And then they do a beautiful combination of music never stopped.
0:49.0	Crazy fingers into comes a time.
0:51.0	Really nicely done.
0:52.0	I think you really really like that. It's very, very great.
0:56.0	Big River follows and speeds things up a bit.
1:00.0	Tennessee Jed, they look like rain is really nicely done that follows.
