From a show I was lucky enough to see, in a beautiful venue, this week's Deadpod takes us to Cleveland for a show back on November 20, 1978 at the Cleveland Music Hall.
This is a very interesting and well played show. The second set, which we will hear next week, is most unique, but this first set is certainly worth hearing, despite some obvious flaws in the recording.
The opening Mississippi Half-Step into a fine Franklin's Tower clocks in at over 20 minutes, and features some fine jamming by Garcia. I'm a fan of the Roses, and while 'Looks Like Rain' suffers from a tape flip, its still nice to hear. An early 'Stagger Lee' follows, then a fine ' Passenger' and a long sweet, 'Peggy O'. The closing 'Lazy Lightnin'>Supplication' is perhaps the highlight of this set; listen for Jerry's great solos here.

| 0:10.6 | venue that I was lucky enough to see the band at the Music Hall on Cleveland, Ohio. This took |
| 0:14.9 | place in November 20th, 1978, a quite unusual show. The recirculating copy that we have of the recording |
| 0:23.2 | of this show has its flaws. However, I think it's quite good enough to listen to in the band puts |
| 0:28.3 | on a really interesting performance, especially set to, which we'll hear next week. Starts out with |
| 0:33.6 | a nice, Mississippi half-step into Franklin's Tower. These two together are almost 20 minutes long. |
| 0:39.4 | Nice, Jerry work on this. Mama tries into Mexican blue's. Then we get a great, it must have been |
| 0:44.4 | the roses. Looks like rain. Unfortunately, there's a tape flipped in there. Don't be surprised. Staggerly, |
| 0:50.3 | then passenger, a really nice, nicely, a favorite of mine. Any rate. Peggyo is nicely done and then |
| 0:58.4 | a lazy lightning into supplication closes the set. Probably the highlight of the set. Jerry really |
| 1:04.7 | gets off on some great riffs on this one. So I hope you enjoy it. Thanks so much for picking us up |
| 1:10.1 | this week and for your support of the DeadPod I couldn't do it without you. And I hope you enjoy |
