0:07.0	Today's reading has a lot in common with tomorrow's reading, so today we'll
0:16.2	zoom in on the first half and tomorrow we'll recap the last half. One of the
0:20.0	things that helps me through these passages is to look at the context.
0:23.4	First, who is this message for?
0:25.8	Some of that is up for debate.
0:27.4	Second, what in this text is information and what in this text is instruction? As we read through Matthew's account of this tomorrow,
0:35.0	aim to use those lenses for the context.
0:37.0	You can ask yourself things like,
0:38.0	is Jesus telling me something God is going to do
0:41.0	or something the disciples were supposed to do or something I am supposed to do.
0:44.8	If he's telling us what God is going to do, it's information.
0:47.9	If he's telling us what the disciples were supposed to do, it's still just information,
0:51.6	as far as we're concerned.
0:53.0	But if he's telling us something we're supposed to do, it's instruction.
0:56.0	Let's jump in.
0:58.0	Jesus has been teaching in the temple and as they're on their way out the door,
1:01.0	one of his disciples is like,
1:02.0	isn't this place the best?
1:04.2	And Jesus just rains all over his parade by saying, yeah, these buildings are awesome.
1:08.4	Enjoy them all you can because they're about to be rubble.
1:10.9	This is the temple.
