0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.
0:07.0	Three days ago on day 2.30 we first read about a potential plot to
0:16.9	kill Judah's new Governor Gettoliah. Some of his military leaders told him
0:20.8	that one of his trusted insiders, a member of the royal family named
0:24.0	Ishmael, was going to assassinate him. But Gettoliah didn't believe the report.
0:29.2	Then on day 231, we found out the report was true, and today we read the full account of how it all
0:34.2	went down. Not only did Ishmael and his crew kill Governor Gedalaya but they
0:38.9	also killed a lot of other people in the process including Judeans and
0:42.4	Babylonian soldiers. The next day,
0:45.2	80 unsuspecting men come to bring grain offerings and Ishmael fakes grief and invites them in.
0:50.5	Then he starts round two of his mass murdering.
0:53.0	He decides to spare ten of the men who bribe him with promises of food and provisions.
0:57.0	Then Ishmael takes all the bodies and disposes of them in a cistern.
1:01.0	His next move is to take everyone else captive,
1:04.7	then force them all to move east with him
1:06.7	across the Jordan River.
1:08.4	But on their way there, they run into Johannan.
1:11.4	He's the guy who originally gave Governor Gatella the heads up about Ishmael's plan.
1:15.8	Joannen and his crew fight against Ishmael and his crew and defeat them.
1:19.6	The captives get set free, but Ishmael escapes.
1:23.2	At this point, these people are living in a land that has erupted in chaos, and they're terrified.
