Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this day. We couldn't be more grateful than to just be able to wake up this morning and to be able to sing your praises, to be able to say, this is the day that you have made, and we will rejoice. We will be glad in it. If we have nothing else to praise you for, let that be it, the fact that we are alive,

that we get another chance today, that your mercies are new this morning. Please forgive us for our sins, Lord. We are so grateful that we have a chance to be able to ask for that forgiveness today, to be able to turn from anything that may be hindering us from being able to be in full fellowship with you, to be at peace, to be at rest,

to have that joy. And so I just pray if we are not aware of what it is that might be oppressing us or holding us back, will you show us, Lord, so that we can make it right? Help us also to forgive others because we know that's a big part of it. And as we open up your word today, your daily manna, as we see the end of David's life

and the beginning of Solomon's, will you please help us to see the bigger picture? Help us to hear

exactly the message that you want to speak to our hearts individually today. Lord, even if I

don't audibly speak words, Holy Spirit, we know that you will. You minister to us in ways that no

human ever could. And so we just open ourselves up to allow you to do that today. Please let our ears, eyes, and hearts be open to you and fully sensitive to your spirit today. We love you so much. Thank you for this time. Thank you for every person here, Lord, will you meet their needs and bless them today? In Jesus' name, amen. So I don't know if you guys read through these chapters before you came here to Bible study today, but when I first looked at it, I was like, oh, man, are there going to be any heart checks today? We're in Chronicles. It's a whole lot of listing. But trust me, there's a whole lot of stuff going on in here today, so don't tune out if you think that, okay?

So we're here in chapter 26, verse one.

As for the divisions of the gatekeepers, of the Korahites, Meshalamaya, the son of Corey, of the sons of Asaf, and Meshalamaya had sons, Zechariah, the firstborn, Jedail the second, Zebediah therd, Jathniel the 4th, Elim the 5th, Jehohenna the 6th, Eliehwinai the 7th, and Obed Edom had sons, Shimea the firstborn, Jehobad the 2nd, Joa the 3rd, Sachar the 4th, Nathanel the 5th, Amiel the 6th, Isakar the 7th, Pailoth I I the eighth, for God blessed him. Also to his son,

Shemaiah were sons born, who were his rulers, who were rulers in their father's houses,

for they were men of great ability. Or in other words, these guys were the strong ones. They were

the bouncer. They were kind of like the National Guard of the Temple. The sons of Shemaiah, Athenei, Raphael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose brothers were able men, Elihu,

Samakaya.

All these were of the sons of Obed Edom.

Now, if you remember, Obed Edom was the one who housed the ark for three months after that failed transport and the death of Uzziah.
