Summary

The Republican Party may be deeply unpopular, but the Democratic Party is even more so. The Dems' brand is weak despite the success of the off-year elections in 2025. To have a shot at winning back the Senate in the midterms, and the White House in 2028, the most successful Dems will be the ones who run against the status quo of their own party. In the meantime, Dems should be aggressively holding Republicans responsible for the tariffs, the threat against Greenland, and the terrorizing of Minnesotans— because they're not stopping the administration. Plus, cowardly CEOs, how to use A.I. as a political issue, and Trump & co's efforts to silence Americans.

Veteran strategist David Plouffe joins Tim Miller.

I want to start. You had a kind of a buzzy op-ed in the New York Times last week about how, while things went good last November for the Democrats, there's still big changes. The party's got to make. I want to get to that to get to that of course but you know the president is forcing us to talk about some other things his delusions and manias instead so we'll start there the world is gathered in davos have you ever been to davos never thankfully really yeah that is surprising i had you pegged as. No, no. I've had to support people going to Davos, but I personally have never been to Davos, which I'm quite thankful for. Yeah, same. I don't get it. It looks chilly. They're all in their Montclair jackets. I don't know. It's just hard logistics. Yeah, right. Yeah, tough. So anyway, they're in Davos.
