Okay, friends, the time is now let's go do it. Let's go talk and hang with a brilliant and wise David Nick turn.

3:39.0

I think at the beginning of people, whenever they follow whatever wisdom tradition, it is that they're interested in they kind of collect the general kind of teachings and some little wisdom nuggets and various things that they they hold and constantly going back to and referencing and using as kind of these guidelines and guide posts and so forth to stay on the track and sort of the scaffolding for their change of mind.

4:09.0

That's a really good thing. I'm curious for you having several decades on most of the people who are listening to this did all of those individual little nuggets and pieces of things to those just melt together into something at some point for you.

4:27.0

Yeah, so it's it's like a funnel in that I think it should be wide at the top and you, you know, for me, that was actually a lot in my even teens and early 20s just exploring reading about things, starting to pick up on your intuitive connection with different traditions, different information coming in.

4:57.0

So I recommend people start eclectic and exploratory. Now, at a certain point, depending on your, you know, karmic propensity, if you will, something might come to you stronger than that and and say, you know, this is I have a real strong connection here with this.

5:18.0

It could be like zen or yoga or shamanism, I mean, if we're in the realm of spirituality, it could be the guitar, if you're a musician, you know, it could be a particular relationship.

5:35.0

So they tend to come out of the background, the soup and have a more prominent and compelling relationship to your sense of exploring.

5:46.0

That to me, if you find something like that, just like a relationship, it would be a time to narrow the funnel.

5:53.0

I see, you know, and zoom in to that and I'm going to keep using the reference of a relationship because at that point, you, you, you won't serve yourself by, by spreading yourself too thin because you have a chance to go deeper.

6:11.0

Yeah, yeah, that's interesting. So well, one thing on spiritual eclecticism, I, I've been a fan of that, you know, pretty much my entire journey on this because I'm just so endlessly fascinated and curious about the looks and crannies of all the different pathways and approaches and things.

6:31.0

However, I did read an interesting quote recently by Biku Bodhi who mentioned that that was sort of a, that his point of view was that that's not really a useful path in, in that, not that each tradition doesn't have a lot to offer, but that they're all, depending on what your aims are, they're all linearly mapped out for a reason.

6:51.0

And so none of them are better than the other, but you should probably pick one and go through the process to see, you know, how it unfolds for you.
