As a kid, I heard rock and pop and soul music and whatever on our little transistor radio

that I had.

So the audio quality would be less than what you'd hear on a phone.

That was enough to kind of tell me in some kind of way that there was another world out

there, other than the world in my little community.

Another world beyond what I was aware of in school.

And it seemed like a world that was really exciting and innovative, and another universe

even.

Music was telling me all that.
