Good morning in the news this morning.

A vigil was held Monday night outside the home of 24-year-old.

ours, Williams, who was shot and killed while her five-day-old daughter slept just feet away.

On Friday morning, police say Williams' boyfriend, Tyrese Lynch, shot her in the head after an argument.

32-year-old Lynch turned himself into police on Monday.

This isn't the first time the couple's relationship turned violent.

Police say Lynch was arrested about a year ago for assaulting Williams, but charges were

dropped when officials say she didn't appear in court. Neighbors reported hearing yelling between the

two in the weeks leading up to the murder. The mother of three had just given birth just days before

and that baby girl is now staying with an aunt. Investigators said that there were signs of

struggles inside the home.

Furniture was overturned, but the baby was not injured.

A federal report released Monday states,

a half a million people across the United States are homeless.

The report found two-thirds of Americans, homeless are in shelters,

while the rest are living on the street.

Homelessness stayed mostly flat from 2017 to 2018,

only up 0.3%. Notably, fewer veterans and families with children were homeless.
