Good morning in the news this morning.

Three Philadelphia police officers were shot and wounded while responding to a domestic-related incident that resulted in a shooting inside a home.

It happened just before 7.30 yesterday evening on the 7,500 block of Whitaker Avenue in the city's Burlholm neighborhood. According to police, there was an argument between a father and son who were playing a video game.

At some point, the boy's uncle got involved and an argument escalated.

Police say the child and uncle ran upstairs.

The father followed them and that's when he opened fire striking the uncle.

Can you friggin' believe that? This is nuts.

I think there's more than just a video game behind this.

The child and uncle then called 911.

According to investigators, the father shot two police officers and a police sergeant who were responding to the scene.

Interim police commissioner John Stanford said the shooter was waiting for police when they responded.

So was an ambush.

Yeah.

Officers at the scene returned fire striking the suspect who was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

There's no word yet on the suspect's identity.

Two officers suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and the sergeant was shot in the finger.

All three are listed as stable at area hospitals.

The uncle was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

It's still unclear how many shots were fired.
