Good morning in the news this morning.

A wild police chase through parts of Philadelphia ended with two people in custody on Thursday night. Police say one suspect is still at large. It happened around

7.15 in the evening. Police say officers chased a car through parts of Mantua and into North Philadelphia.

The chase came to an end near 17th in Jefferson Street. Officers ran towards the car, used a baton

to bash out the back window, and arrested the two suspects. Detectives say at least one of them had been spotted with a gun in West Philadelphia before taking them on the high-speed chase. Hours before the chase, gunfire rang out on the 5,400 block of North 15th Street. The shooting left five people shot. One victim is currently listed in critical condition at the hospital, and the violence unfolded on the same street, 20 blocks north of where a half a dozen officers were shot after serving a search warrant.

Jeez.

Yeah.

Philadelphia's top federal prosecutor says the shooting of six Philadelphia police officers

during a seven and a half hour standoff was precipitated by a disrespect for law enforcement

that the city's district attorney is champion.

Champion.

U.S. attorney William McSwain said Thursday in a news release that disrespect puts police in danger.

The top prosecutors have a sharp divide.

McSwain is a president, is a president Donald Trump appointee, and Larry Krasner is a longtime civil rights lawyer.

McSwain has previously questioned Krasner's

commitment to crime victims. An email seeking comment was sent to Krasner, but no response yet.

The six officers that had non-life-threatening injuries have been released from the hospital. This suspected

gunman is in custody after surrendering. Now, yesterday afternoon, the Philadelphia Police Department identified the officers
