| 0:00.0 | 93-3-WMR Audio on Demand presents the Preston and Steve Show podcast. |
| 0:08.0 | We had some questions about house arrest, and Steve had pulled up this link to, and I'll give a plug to the website. |
| 0:16.6 | It's Marnie Joe Snyder, criminal defense trial attorney. |
| 0:20.3 | Sounds legit to me. They handle all of Gritty's legal work. |
| 0:23.2 | And it says five things to know about house arrest in Pennsylvania, because we did have some |
| 0:27.1 | house arrest questions. We do have a lot of questions because I think ever since the notion |
| 0:31.3 | of house arrest came up, it always seemed like, I could think I could do that. I'm okay, |
| 0:36.5 | depending on how long, you know? Because we always try to, you always try to think, and that's the whole purpose of jail. It's opposed to serve as a deterrent. Gee, I don't think I'd like to do that. Listen, house arrest, I'm sure, is a thousand times better than prison, but I would go nuts if I was stuck in my house. You would, but if you think about being stuck in a jail. Yes. Depends on the house too. Well, depends on if you're in Cosby's house or you're in a mobile home. Well, that's true, but I still think the mobile home would be better than prison. What if you can drive your house? Are you allowed out of your house? Simply because of it, listen, it would be other people. Yes, of course. |
| 1:11.6 | Other people in jail would be the big deterrent to going to jail for me. |
| 1:15.4 | Many times can be unpleasant. |
| 1:17.9 | Yes. |
| 1:18.2 | Yeah, yeah. |
| 1:18.9 | But if you were to have, and if those who have experienced house arrest, feel free to get in touch with us. |
| 1:24.2 | Here are some basic things, five things that you need to know about |
| 1:27.5 | house arrest in Pennsylvania. So according to this website, it says house arrest can be granted |
| 1:32.4 | instead of bail or is an alternative to serving in jail sense. Well, we know that, right? |
| 1:36.8 | I can use an alternative punishment to jail. The judge finds a compelling reason that a defendant |
| 1:40.9 | should be in the community. But the crime or prior record is too severe |
| 1:45.7 | for probation and more supervision is needed, then the judge can order that the jail sentences |
| 1:50.9 | served on house arrest or electronic monitoring. Because sometimes you remember, you're allowed |
| 1:56.4 | to go to work. I mean, you can, if you're under electronic monitoring, they just make sure that you go from your front door to your job, back to your front door. If you're under house arrest, and I, it may not be in this list here, Preston, but you're not, are you always under monitored an electronic monitor? Yeah. Yeah, you haven't actually. Or is that always the case? Or is it sort of the pinky swear? No, no, it's always the case. Yeah. You haven't actually. Or is that always the case? I don't know. Or is it sort of the pinky swear? No, no. No. It's the case. Yeah. And I think it actually, right, it'll actually beep if you are like out too long or something. If you're out too long. Hang on. It says here the judge can order that the jail sentences served on house arrest or electronic monitoring. So there Maybe. Oh, so there might be something where you don't... I don't know. Like a long leash. You can run up and down on a... Like when you put your dog out the back. You can dig. Yeah. This is what I think. Hide those goofy bastards. I think electronic monitoring is like a GPS that they can track you where you are. And a house arrest is you still have the anklet, but it really only detects when you're out of that zone. And listen, well, yeah, but Steve's question is, is every time you're in house arrest, do you have an ankle? Yes. You know this for sure. I think so, too. I don't know for sure. I don't know for sure. I think that's the case. I think that's the point of house arrest. No, I know it is. But they might also like probation, just keep an eye on you, you know what I mean, as opposed to electronic monitor. Yes, I know what you're saying. I'm just saying my opinion is I don't think that's the case. Okay, thank you. Yeah. You don't know 100. |
| 3:24.6 | I don't know. |
