Good morning in the news this morning. An early morning three alarm fire in Chester, Delaware

County has displaced 12 people, including children from four separate homes. Firefighters received the first call

at about 1240 a.m. on Thursday for a fire in the 1100 block of Remington Street. When they arrived

on the scene, heavy flames were coming from the third floor of the home, which was located on

Remington. The flames spread to a neighboring home and then to two more homes in the rear that face

White Street. Officials say one person was trapped but was able to escape. Six adults and six

children have been displaced. None were injured in the fire. Officials say 75 firefighters from

six to eight nearby fire companies, including some from Delaware responded to help fight the fire.

One firefighter did suffer a minor injury, but he was evaluated at the scene.

The two homes that face Remington Street are said to be a total loss, and the fire remains under investigation.

The annual Family Fund Day at Robert B. Pollock Elementary School ended with

police responding to an alleged assault on the vice principal and principal by one of the

student's mother and father. Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Dennis Rosenbaum said it began when a parent

attending the event did not follow the proper protocol for an early dismissal

dismissal for their child.

The mother and the child refused and started an argument, said Rosenbaum.

She assaulted the assistant principal.

The principal saw what was happening and intervened and then the father assaulted him.

All of this while the children were watching.
