In the news this morning, the Food and drug administration is warning consumers not to use

hand sanitizer manufactured by a Mexican company S-biocam because the products contain

methanol, a toxic substance that can cause short and long-term health problems.

Methanol is not an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitizers and should not be used due to the

toxic effects according to the

FDA. Consumers who have been exposed to hand sanitizer containing methanol should seek immediate

treatment. The FDA said in a statement exposure to the methanol-based hand sanitizer can cause

nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, nervous system damage,

and even death, the FDA warns. Okay, I'm sorry, what's the name of the company? Because the sanitizer I have is made in Mexico. Oh, really? Well, okay, Case, I have a list of the name. So it comes, the name of the company is Esk Biochem, but the names of the hand sanitizer. So they have one with that exact name on it the other one is all clean hand

no by the way that the description of the... What can happen? What can happen sounds like when they make like fake booze, bootleg booze, you know, and people drink it and die from and go blind and stuff. I was thinking of the same thing. It would stand to reason, though. It's an alcohol-based product, right. Methanol, is that what you said it is?

I mean, and to me, that didn't sound so scary. You know what I mean? Like, they're like, no, it shouldn't be in hand sanitizer. Okay. So they're saying they're also worried about. Okay. Why not? Throw it on the pile. They're also worried about young children who accidentally can ingest hand sanitizer and then

young people who drink it as a substitute to alcohol.

So they're saying they are more, obviously, more at risk for poisoning.
