Good morning. In the news this morning, a violent hit-and-run crash in southwest Philadelphia

left one person dead and another critically injured and police are searching for one of the drivers. Police say it happened

about 2 a.m. this morning, a minivan traveling east on Paschankav collided with a Ford Mustang going

west and the driver of the minivan tried to make a left onto 63rd Street. The minivan received front-end

damage. The Mustang was left unrecognizable. There were two passengers in the Mustang. Both had to be cut out of the wreckage because the car was so mangled. Police say the 29-year-old driver who was visiting the area from Georgia was pronounced dead at the scene. The 26-year-old passenger was taken to Penn Presbyterian medical center and critical condition. However, he is expected to survive.

The driver of the minivan was the sole occupant of that vehicle. He fled on foot running north on

63rd Street, according to witnesses. Police did run the plates of the minivan and were checking

the address on file for the vehicle. They have also collected fingerprints and other evidence

from the scene.

Investigators interviewed a witness and they are hoping to talk to the passenger of that Mustang

once he's able to speak. Police say excessive speed may have played a role in the crash,

but they won't know. They won't be able to determine who was at fault until the accident

investigators are finishing processing the scene. An argument between two drivers sitting at a drive-through of a Northern Liberty's McDonald's

restaurant led to gunfire, police say. It happened at 1.30 last night at the McDonald's on the

unit block of West Gerard Ave. During the argument, police say one of the men got out of his car,

pulled out a gun firing several times at the 27-year-old victim.

Police say at least one bullet entered the victim's side door and grazed the chest of the victim. They were saying, Kathy, that's a 24-hour McDonald's. Have you ever heard of that before? There's a few. Are there? Yeah, not all of them, but I've encountered some. Okay. Yeah. The victim drove off and was able to flag down a police officer at front in Richmond streets for help.

Police say the man refused to go to the hospital. The shooter fled the scene. And police are hoping that the restaurant security camera captured the suspect and his vehicle and they can find out more as to exactly what happened here. It was a really violent night. So another one.
