In the news this morning, New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy, is expected to make a major announcement this afternoon on easing additional COVID-19 restrictions.

Tomorrow at 1 o'clock, with our COVID metrics decisively trending in the right direction, I will make a major announcement on easing restrictions and ramping up our vaccination set in a tweet Sunday afternoon.

As of Sunday, more than 3 million New Jerseyans are now fully vaccinated.

People at the shore are hoping the announcement will mean a more normal summer and businesses on the boardwalk are hoping to for the eased restrictions.

Jim Thomas, the owner of Hollywood Arcade and Ocean City, says profits were cut in half last year, but with more people getting vaccinated, more people are coming to play.

He says the summer is looking promising.

Restaurants in New Jersey are currently allowed to have 50% capacity inside.

Last month, the governor announced the easing of restrictions for a variety of activities

and higher outdoor capacity limits effective May 10th.

So we'll see what he says today at 1 o'clock.

Four people were killed and more than two dozen others were hospitalized after a wooden boat

capsized Sunday during a possible human smuggling operation just off the San Diego Coast Authority said.

Local lifeguards, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies responded around 10.30 in the morning

following reports of an overturned vessel

near the peninsula of Point Loma, according to the San Diego Fire Rescue Department.

The original call was for a handful of people overboard, but as rescuers arrived in boats and jet skis,

they quickly realized it was going to be a bigger situation with more people.
