news this morning, Philadelphia police have arrested a driver who's accused of hitting multiple restaurant patrons while stealing a woman's purse on Thursday night. After the theft, police say the suspect led officers on a brief chase that ended in a crash. It happened at 6.30 yesterday evening at the International Barn Restaurant in Kensington. Police say the U-Haul driver reached out to snatch a purse from a group that was dining outside and ultimately crashed into the outdoor structure.

Police say a 62-year-old man who was dining outside was struck and suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses say a motorcyclist tried to stop the U-Haul driver from getting away.

He plowed right through him, the witness said.

Police say the 26-year-old driver of the motorcycle suffered minor injuries, but he is going to be

okay. The 43-year-old suspect was able to get away. Police say officers tried to stop him in the 200

block of West Birch Street, and he acted like a demolition driver. Video captured the suspect

ramming his U-Haul into a police vehicle and several parked cars in an attempt to get away.

U-Haul is not a good getaway vehicle.

It seems perfect for stealing things in a city.

Yes. They drive up to people like sitting in a restaurant with the purse hanging out and snag it and go, and they're out of there.

The 43-year-old U-haul driver was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated.

He faces charges of theft, reckless driving, fleeing the scene of an accident, reckless

endangerment and related offenses. And by the way, don't you halls have governors on the engine?
