Good morning in the news this morning.

A former University of Delaware athlete already serving a six-year prison sentence for sex offenses was sentenced Thursday to two and a half additional years behind bars for other sexual attacks on young women.

27-year-old Clay Conaway was sentenced in a Southern Delaware courtroom more than a year after he pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and no contest on three counts of fourth

degree rape. He took plea agreements as he faced five counts of second degree rape involving

four separate women. Conway was sentenced to two years for third degree rape 90 days,

each on two counts of fourth degree rape and probation for the other fourth degree rape charge.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to ask for no more than four additional years in

prison. Had Conaway been tried and convicted of second degree rape, he faced a minimum mandatory

sentence of 10 years in prison on each count. Conaway was a former University of Delaware

baseball player and he was accused of sexually

assaulting several women between 2013 and 2018. Wow. Yeah, crazy. 24-year-old man who officials say

is part of a broad retail theft ring with his father was arrested in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Jamir Mitchell was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants, including one dating back to

2018.

Jamir's father, 42-year-old Jamal Mitchell, is still wanted by police.

Yeah, it's wrong, but I know so many parents are looking for things to do with their kids.

Well, I would imagine that the defense attorney will say it was a bonding experience.
