The Villanova Wildcats will be honored with the championship parade in Philadelphia after their NCAA tournament win.

The Villanova National Championship Parade will take place today at 11 a.m. The parade will begin at 20th and Market Streets.

And we'll end at Dilworth Park. The university is closed today for the parade festivities.

The city of Philadelphia and SEPTA have released their plans for the parade.

Parade elements will assemble between 20th and 29th Street on Market Street, beginning at 9.30 in the morning.

So that's when the closures will begin. At 11 a.m., the parade will go down and I'm sorry, we'll start at 20th on Market Street and proceed eastbound on Market to 15th Street,

southbound on 15th Street to South Penn Square, eastbound on South Penn Square, terminating on South

Penn Square west of Broad Street. The rally portion of the event will be at 1145 and the event is scheduled

to end at 1230. Market Street between 20th and 29th, will be closed starting at 930. That's lasting until about noon. They're saying no cross traffic being allowed during that time frame. I remember the first time around, it was such a cool energy and Jay Wright and the team and everything. So when they do it, they do it right. There's a little bit of selling the sizzle and they do it well. It should be a good time. Market Street will be closed between 16th and 19th. That's starting at 10 a.m. And we'll go until 1 o'clock. In addition, 16th through 20th streets will be closed between JFK and Chestnut. 15th in Market, 15th Street from race to Chestnut Street. and South Penn Square from 15th to Broad Street will be closed starting at 10 a.m.

Additional closures and lane restrictions may be necessary in the interest of public safety. Motorists are advised to use caution and obey the instructions of the Philadelphia Police Department. And they're recommending you put goat's blood over your doorway, right? Yes. That was last week. I was Passover. Oh, you're right. In addition to the road closures, parking restrictions went into place at 6 a.m. this morning and will be in effect until 4 o'clock this afternoon. Septa says, expect extra volume, and they have added some additional service. Some bus routes will be impacted if they normally travel along that parade route.
