And now, Preston and Steve's news update with Kathy Romano.

0:13.0

Today is Tuesday, April 3rd.

0:14.7

Good morning, Kathy.

0:15.5

Good morning in the news this morning, winning another national championship means no classes at Villanova.

0:26.6

Villanova University and Villanova Law are closed today after the men's basketball team won their second NCAA championship in three years on Monday night.

0:34.6

That was great, that the law school was like, yeah, us too.

0:37.2

Yeah, throw in, why not? That means no law 101 for me today. The Wildcats defeated Michigan 79 to 62. As soon as the game finished, fans streamed from the campus cheering and chanting. Police say the celebration on Lancaster Avenue, which went well into the early morning hours, was mostly orderly, but there were two arrests. Police say that the two arrests were for a minor assault and underage drinking. A street sign was ripped to the ground and floated through the crowd and a bonfire burned on Lancaster Ave with fans celebrating around it. See, a guy did eat poop, but it was an Arabian horse's poop. Oh, much more expensive horse. Officers on motorcycles came through to disperse the crowd. Police did grease the polls down before the game, but they say at least one person still managed to climb all the way up the street side. Some dude just sitting up there watching the whole thing. Totally unfazed. Officials say more than 400 police officers, along with the FBI and township employees, helped to monitor the celebration. Students, alums, and fans could not contain themselves after the Wildcats victory.

and throughout Villanova.

Everyone is now looking forward to the celebration of the parade, but no word yet on when

1:40.7

that will happen.

1:41.4

The team is expected to arrive back home later this afternoon. Man, they just dominated through the whole thing. Double digits in every win, right? Every win, yeah. Only three teams, I think, have ever done that before. That is just absolutely manhandling everybody. Yeah, they were the best team in the tournament by far. They deserved to win. It's fantastic. Where was the parade last time?

2:01.9

Was it down in Lancaster?

2:02.4

No.

2:02.7

No. No.
